Philip Brown1 StarWe have used LaPensee numerous times. Their reputation was (still is?) they were responsive, reliable, but the most expensive. Our last experience was two weekends ago. Clogged kitchen sinks that needed a long snake (urgent but not an emergency). When I called at 3:00 pm on Saturday, they implied the on call plumber would call me back ASAP. Ultimately, I had to call LaPensee every hour (from 4:00 - 10:00 pm) to make sure I had not missed their call back and that they were still aware of my need for a plumber with a long snake. By 10:00 pm on Saturday night, my last call, they were still advising me they would recontact the on call plumber (implying that plumber may call me back during the middle of the night). I advised I would have to wait until the next morning to have the work done as we would not want to disturb our neighbors and that I could no longer stay awake. After my calling back at 7 am on Sunday, I finally received a call back around 8 am on Sunday, even though I was told two extra on call plumbers had been called the day before as well as a manager. Horrible Customer Service. So much for responsiveness and reliability. Ultimately on Sunday they lived up to their reputation for being the most expensive. I have waited two weeks before posting this review so I was not driven by my emotions. Also, on Monday morning, I did go into headquarters and spoke to the head of service so I could advise him of our negative experience. I advised him that I would eventually post my review and share my experience with my development, many of whose residents use LaPensee. Needless to say, LaPensee will be the last call I will make to get urgent service moving forward.Wednesday 8th May 2024
Julie Brady1 StarHORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - We were charged almost $550 for a problem that was INCORRECTLY DIAGNOSED AND NEVER FIXED.
We asked the billing manager to adjust our bill. We should not have been charged $487.50 for labor that was ineffective. LaPensee cabled 48 feet down when the problem was simply a disconnected pipe. Another company found the problem and fixed it easily and promptly.
The billing manager did not correspond with us or return phone calls. Instead she chose to turn clients who had been working with their business for over 20 years over to collections.Friday 28th June 2024
L L1 StarSimply put, they have "gotten too big for their britches" and have no time for working people. We used them for many years when we lived on Anna Maria, but when high prices & insane traffic forced us off the island, we bought a pool home in Bradenton. We called several times to make an appt for service for our pool & to bid on whole house replumb, but they were always too busy to maintain a customer. If you're wealthy, you stand a chance. Pilot Al1 StarThis company used to be one of my favorites to use on the island. Lately with so many rental home and mass expansion in employees the personal service is gone. They sent a tech over to my home that miss diagnosed the problem and did not fix anything. I have video of the tech hanging out at my beach house to add up hrs and get the bill up. Lapensee fired the employee but never credited me for the bill I paid through managing company. Been using them for years but wont any longer on any of my homes in Anna MariaFriday 9th February 2024
Darcie Andersen1 StarUsed this company to repair a three compartment sink in my commercial kitchen. I had to have them come out a few times. Each time they give me a new bill and the problem is still not resolved. I send them emails that go un answered. I then go in there to talk to someone in person and am assured someone will be out later that day to correct the problem and they no call no show.
